Kids' Clothes Week Challenge

Okay, so this week is supposed to be the kids' clothes week challenge, where you're supposed to dedicate the entire week to making kids' clothes...if you sew, that is. I actually got a head start last week, finishing up some projects I've had cut out for ever next to my sewing machine, and I was going to take pictures today, but, as luck would have it, my camera battery is completely dead. So, maybe tonight if I get back around to it. But anyway, I have already made the boys some pj shorts (long for more warmth and so they don't outgrow them in two weeks...), cut off a pair of Little Bit's pj pants she had ripped (They are pj SHORTS now), and made her a pair of shorts, a pair of pants, and finally finished a top. I also made them all some t-shirts using bought appliques, an owl for the girl, firetrucks for the boys. They LOVE them. Hopefully, I'll have more to show before the week is up! I'm having a blast getting back to my sewing machine after so long long of...nothing. I've really missed it. And it feels soooo good to finally be getting some of my projects finished, for once! I'll try and get the pics up soon! Also, unrelated, but I am working on a knitted/crocheted baby blanket for my etsy shop. Hopefully, I'll have it finished and pics up before too long! Anyone else working on this challenge?

Back at the Machine

Well, it seems like forever since I've sewn...things just keep happening to keep me from it, and when I have a free moment, I just haven't felt like it. I have been working on a crochet project, which I will show when finished. Crochet is always so nice to work on while you watch TV or something, and then I can still converse with hubby while doing something physically productive. A good mix. :) Anyway, I made these pj pants for the boys' birthday....I always try to make them new pj's for their birthday. Not sure why, only that it's sort of become a tradition now. Anyway, they're super warm and cuddly, and they like them. I fell in LOVE with the lobster material. Just so odd, I know. But I like odd. :)

And I made this shirt for Little Bit finally...only had it cut out forever. In fact, I kinda' had to sew my seams small just to give her a little more room, as she's grown since I cut it out... But I just haven't had time...or felt like it...or whatever... Life happens. You know how it goes. See above... But I was pleased with how it turned out. Owls and all. I especially like the little cap sleeves. How sweet! And just in time for back to school. I have another one almost finished made mostly like it. I will show it when it's finished, too. But I thought these would be super cute with jeans or a denim skirt and maybe a cardigan thrown over it. :)

New Dress

I had ordered this material a while back, (It's from the Chocolate Lollipop line from Anna Maria Horner--Love her!) and Little Bit fell madly in love with it and wanted a dress made out of it, so here it is, her very own creation, though I picked the pattern. I did have to add a strip to the bottom, however, to make up for the fact that she grew a lot since I cut it out...my own fault...I think it was March or April when I cut the thing out. I shouldn't have waited so long to get it sewn up! But she loves it. And it suits her. It really does.
